Sustainability at the OVGU

OVGU recognises sustainability as one of its core values and has formulated sustainable goals for all areas of the university in 2018. On the following pages you will find further information and explanations on the understanding of sustainability and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Together with the EU GREEN partner universities, we are kicking off the summer semester with the Kiplin Challenge. All students and staff are welcome to take part.  From April 8 to 28, we want to collect 11,175,714 steps. That's the equivalent of 7823 kilometers - the distance it would take to visit all the universities in the EU GREEN Alliance one after the other
You can find more information about the Kiplin Challenge here.

As part of the OVGU rubbish collection campaign (CleanUp campaign), our spring cleaning will take place on the main campus on 18 April at 2 pm! We have organised free coffee and cake and live music for all hard-working helpers and look forward to seeing you there!

You can find more information about our spring clean and the clean-ups here.

Energy transition, energy efficiency, energy saving - these are topics that affect us all. LENA's Energy Saving Guide gives you 50 practical tips on how to save energy in the home. Click here for the Energy Saving Guide!

In addition to our networking and events at OVGU, the sustainability office supervises and coordinates projects outside the university. For example, the KlimaPlanReal project, which brings together universities and colleges in Saxony-Anhalt on the path to climate neutrality, is supported from our office.
