Academic Bicycle Challenge in June

Moving OVGU together - cycling for the ABC again from June 1-30, 2025!

The Academic Bicycle Challenge will take place again this year from June 1-30 and OVGU will once again be taking part in the month of June 2025 under the motto “Moving OVGU together”. As in previous years, the routes will be recorded using the “Naviki” app. If you do not yet have the app on your smartphone, you can download it from the app store and register for the competition. You can find instructions on how to register HERE.

For all hard-working cyclists, we are once again organizing a kick-off event on 02.06.2025, from 11:00 - 14:00, with all kinds of stands on the subject of cycling. The TK-Mobil will be there again and will offer free bike fitting / bike coaching appointments. Other highlights include the OVGU smoothie bike, where anyone can mix themselves a delicious drink by pedaling; a stand of the university bookshop “Coppenrath & Boeser” with merchandise, a service and sales stand of Zweiradschulz; in view of the charity regatta Rowing against Cancer, a DKMS stand for typing for bone marrow donation. Another item on the program will be the award ceremony for the Kiplin Challenge. The baton will be symbolically handed over to the ABc cyclists.

The ABC and its accompanying events are organized by the sports center, the company health management, the family office and the sustainability office of the OVGU.

Final ABC event - 30.06.

At the end of the ABC, there will again be the opportunity to collect a few kilometers together on a guided bike tour. The final tour starts on 30.06.2025, 16:00 in front of the Campus Welcome Center. The tour will be followed by a convivial get-together at the Schweizer Milchkuranstakt.
