Step counting for OVGU

It's that time again! The kiplin step challenge is back at the University of Magdeburg in the summer semester of 2026. Together with partners from the European alliance EU GREEN, participants will be counting their steps between April 14th and May 5th – during walks, on the way to university, on campus, and while shopping. The campaign aims to motivate everyone to be more active in their daily lives and, as a bonus, improve their physical and mental health. Anyone can participate via the kiplin app; registration is possible from March 23rd using the code: EUGREENKIP .

What is the Kilplin Challenge?

The University of Magdeburg is once again conducting a joint step-counting campaign with all partner universities of the European alliance EU GREEN . Members of universities from nine European countries are competing against each other to accumulate as many steps as possible in their daily lives. Staff and students are encouraged to be active together during walks, on their way to university, on campus, and while shopping. Using the app, you can become part of the Kiplin Challenge community and have the opportunity to see how your fellow participants are doing or share your own experiences.

How can one participate?

Registration opens on March 23, 2026. Steps will be counted in the app starting April 14, 2026 – the challenge ends on May 5, 2026 .

Simply enter the registration code EUGREENKIP in the app and you're good to go.

After downloading the Kiplin app, you first select your university and can then collect steps either alone or in a team with up to 5 members.
