New secure bicycle parking facility on the campus of Otto von Guericke University
Since the start of the new semester, students and staff of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg have had access to a new, secure bicycle parking facility . The newly constructed, fenced bicycle cage is located on the campus grounds next to Lecture Hall 1 (left side) and offers ample parking spaces – even for bicycles with trailers.
Access to the facility is simple and contactless via a valid student or staff ID card . This allows bicycles to be parked securely and protected from unauthorized access. Thanks to the roof, they are also better protected from rain and other weather conditions.

With the new bicycle cage, the university is improving its bicycle-friendly infrastructure and setting another example for sustainable mobility on campus. The facility aims to encourage students and staff to use bicycles even more frequently as an environmentally friendly means of transport to the university.
In the long term, the plan is to further expand the number of secure parking options and implement additional measures to promote climate-friendly mobility on campus.
