Affiliated with the largest animal protection association, the Deutscher Tierschutzbund (German Animal Protection Association), we provide up-to-date insights into the challenges and opportunities that we can tackle together for animal protection! A journey through the history of Kurdistan: we look back at the last 3000 years, in which the Kurdish people were and are exposed to various oppressive conditions. From the history of the first Kurdish principalities to decades of foreign rule by the Ottoman Empire, to the special role of the founding of the Turkish state to the modern history of resistance, the history of the Kurdish people becomes tangible. Furthermore, the principles of democratic federalism will be presented and the current situation will be discussed. We will explore the questions of what makes the Kurdish liberation movement so unique and why founding a state cannot be a solution.
