from 12 pm - PIC a TREE. Discover biodiversity on campus
Biodiversity is an important indicator of a functioning ecosystem. But what about biodiversity in the urban spaces that shape our everyday lives? The European university alliance EU GREEN and the OVGU invite you to get to know the trees on our campus better. As part of an international citizen science project, we will use the app iNaturalist to photograph and map the trees on the main campus and collect the corresponding data. This way we can experience our campus together in a new way. All you need is curiosity and a well-charged smartphone! Procedure: There will be a preparation meeting on 9 October from 11:15 to 11:45. The format is HYBRID. During the meeting you will be informed about the Citizen Science project, get first insights into how the iNaturalist app works and learn about the European university alliance EU GREEN. The preparatory meeting will take place in the conference room of the university library. Online participation is possible via Zoom. On 12 October, we'll get going: we'll meet at 12 noon at the university's Porta and set off in small groups to explore the campus. The event will last about two hours.

In the neighbourhood shop Tacheles, there is Platz&Kuchen every Thursday from 3 - 5 pm: This means a place to meet, exchange ideas and hang out, and coffee and cake are available for a donation. The café lives on voluntary support and many hard-working bakers! Do you enjoy baking (or would you like to try it out) or would you like to help behind the counter? Then come along! On 12.10. you can come to the café from 15-17 hrs to eat cake or directly afterwards to the get-to-know-you meeting at 17:30 hrs. We look forward to seeing you!
